These drawings were done by Johnny Eck during the winter months when he was at home for the off season. They date from the late 50's to the late 70's.
These drawings are highly sexually charged and offer an insight into the repressed sexual feelings Johnny felt. They also offer a commentary on the negative, changing face of the neighborhood which Johnny had called home for so long.
There were 2 refrigerators in their house, one for food and drink, the other contained these. Johnny didn't sign these drawings for fear of being arrested for pornography. (Years earlier, one of his managers was arrested for pornography and given a choice between jail and military service. He chose the service.)
These are far different from the innocent watercolors he did in his earlier years.
